The original Ready-To-Race monster truck, rebuilt from the ground up around Velineon 3S brushless power. 35+ mph on 2S, 50+ mph on 3S, no gearing change.

Almost nothing carries over from the old truck. It gets a new monocoque chassis with the shock towers molded into the frame, a longer and wider footprint, double-wishbone suspension on XX-long GTR shocks, Extreme HD arms and driveshafts, 32-pitch gearing on a 5 mm motor shaft, and a clipless body with new Bash-Locks. It runs the same VX3 speed control and V3200 motor as the Stampede 4x4 Brushless, in a rear-drive truck built to wheelie.

It comes in six colors (Green, Orange, Red, Pink, Black and the 40th Anniversary scheme), all the same truck underneath.

Why You'll Love It

• 3S out of the box: The VX3 ESC and V3200 3200Kv motor make 50+ mph on a 3S LiPo with the stock gearing. On 2S it runs 35+ mph, and Training Mode cuts throttle and reverse to 50% for a new driver.
• Punch Control: Turn the Multi-Function knob down for a smooth, linear launch on loose ground, or up for hard hits and wheelies on demand.
• A chassis modeled after the Maxx: Shock towers are part of the frame, the front and rear bulkheads lock into it, and thicker skid plates take the ground hits. Shocks and arms mount in double shear.
• Bigger footprint: The wheelbase grows about an inch (26 mm) and the width grows over an inch (28 mm) for more straight-line stability and fewer rollovers.
• Bash-Locks on a clipless body: Press the body down and the latches snap shut. Flip the Bash-Lock levers and they can't release until you open them. Battery changes still take seconds.
• Built to take a beating: Extreme HD suspension parts and driveshafts, a reinforced front bumper, a fixed wheelie bar that doubles as a carry handle, and chassis nerf bars for side hits.

• Transmission: Magnum 272 with all-metal gear internals on sealed ball bearings, heavy-duty top shaft, Torque-Control slipper clutch, 32-pitch spur and pinion, sealed gearbox with motor guard.
• Differential: Planetary gear diff with hardened steel internal gears and a steel ring gear.
• Suspension: Double wishbone front and rear, XX-long composite GTR shocks with threaded collars, 3.5 mm shafts and captured spring retainers.
• Steering: 2057 waterproof metal-gear servo, dual-bellcrank steering with an integrated cam-operated servo saver.
• Radio: TQi 2.4 GHz 2-channel with Multi-Function knob, 30-model memory, TSM (adjustable 0-100% or off) and a 3-channel receiver with fail-safe in an O-ring sealed box.
• Tires and wheels: Talon MXT tires glued on 2.8" black monster truck wheels, removable center caps, same offset front and rear.

Needed to Run

• One 2S or 3S LiPo battery with a Traxxas connector. Our 3S completer pack pairs a 2872X 3S LiPo with the 2970 charger.
• A LiPo charger. Traxxas recommends the 2970 EZ-Peak Plus.
• Four AA batteries for the transmitter

Worth Adding

• 6511 Traxxas Link Wireless Module: Plugs into the transmitter so you can set TSM and Punch Control from your phone and watch live ESC telemetry.
• Parts built for this truck: Traxxas already lists spare bodies in Green, Orange, Pink, Red, Rock n' Roll and Solar Flare, plus ProGraphix and clear (13611 series), colored suspension arms (13631, 13632, 13633), a front LED light bar (13685) and underbody LED kits (13690). Note: The VX3 does not run NiMH packs. It runs 2S or 3S LiPo only. Gearing is 32-pitch on a 5 mm shaft, so standard 48-pitch pinions and spurs won't fit.
