LiPo Battery Care Guide

How do I take care of my new LiPo battery?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions in the hobby shop, so I thought it would be a good idea to answer it in writing.
There are four simple guidelines that will maximize your battery's lifespan, performance, and safety. We refer to them as "The Four Golden Rules of LiPo's."
Rule #1 - Never charge LiPo batteries unattended
You don't need to sit there and stare at your battery while it charges, but be mindful that you have a battery charging. That means don't go to sleep and charge overnight and don't start charging and then go to the grocery store. You should be present and periodically check on the battery's charging progress.
When LiPo batteries fail, it is almost always during use or during charging. In the unlikely event that your battery fails while being charged, you will want to be there to deal with it!
Rule #2 - Do not store the battery completely charged
Rule #3 - Do not store the battery completely discharged
Rule #4 - Always disconnect the battery when not in use
